The Electronic Public Health Emergency Management system further strengthens the ability to detect infectious diseases early. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, stressed that the ministry is committed to strengthening the early detection system for infectious diseases in the country.

According to Yang Berhormat, to further strengthen early detection capabilities, the ministry is implementing the Electronic Public Health Emergency Management system, ePHEM with technical support from the World Health Organisation, WHO. The ePHEM system is an evidence-based surveillance platform that complements the existing PHS system by enabling the detection of early signals of outbreaks from various sources.
